Brooklyn, NY — The executive committee of Satmar Ahronim in Williamsburg today announced their endorsement of Andrew Cuomo for Mayor of New York City, citing his leadership, moderation, and commitment to protecting their community in the face of an increasingly radicalized political environment.

In a public letter, community leaders Cheskel Berkowitz, Avrum Brach, and Shulem Yitzchok Jacobowitz urged fellow New Yorkers to stand with Cuomo and reject Zohran Mamdani and the far-left agenda threatening traditional neighborhoods and institutions.

Their statement reads:

“The New York City mayor election is coming up this Tuesday November 4 and everything we value and what we stand for is at stake.

Across the board, the progressive movement’s crusading agenda is a threat to our ability to live as Torah Jews and educate our children with the same values.

THE MAYOR AND HIS OFFICE HAS TREMENDOUS INFLUENCE ON POLICY, DIRECTION AND GEIST.

Each of us must do everything in our power to protect and preserve our values, communities, yeshivas and way of life.

PLEASE OUT-VOTE THE PROGRESSIVE AGENDA AND VOTE FOR ANDREW CUOMO ON TUESDAY NOV 4.

– CHESKEL BERKOWITZ, AVRUM BRACH, SHULEM YITZCHOK JACOBOWITZ

“I’m deeply honored to have the support of these respected community leaders,” Andrew Cuomo said. “Their voices carry tremendous weight in standing up for family, faith, and common sense. I share their belief that New York needs unity and balance—not ideological extremes—and together, we’ll make this city safer, fairer, and stronger for all.”
