Plumbers Local 1 Endorses Andrew Cuomo for Mayor of New York City
New York, NY -- The members of UA Local Union No. 1, The Plumbers of New York City, today announced their endorsement of Andrew Cuomo for Mayor of New York City, citing his long record of supporting the building trades and investing in infrastructure that puts union members to work.
“Cuomo has always stood and supported the Building Trades. As Governor, he championed infrastructure investment, union apprenticeship programs, and project labor agreements that put our members to work and protected our standards. He hopes to bring that same commitment to the five boroughs,” Local 1 said. “Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Vote for the candidate who builds with us, not around us.”
Throughout his time in public service, Cuomo has made rebuilding New York’s infrastructure and supporting working men and women a top priority. Under his leadership as Governor, New York State saw record investments in transportation, clean water, housing, and public facilities—projects that created tens of thousands of union jobs and strengthened communities across the city.
“Building a better city starts with the people who build it,” Cuomo said. “Plumbers Local 1 represents the best of New York’s workforce – skilled, dedicated, and proud to make this city work every single day. I’m honored to have their support and look forward to partnering with them to build a safer, fairer, and more affordable New York.”
