Governor Cuomo Calls on Mayor Adams to Ensure NYC Voting Sites Are Equipped with Cooling Systems on Election Day

Cuomo Also Calls on Adams to Have a Plan to Hand Out Water for Voters Waiting On Line

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, candidate for mayor of New York City, today called on Mayor Eric Adams to install cooling systems at all voting sites across the city next Tuesday for Election Day.  The governor also called on Adams to have a plan to hand out water for voters waiting on line.

“Voting is at the heart of our democracy and every New Yorker should be afforded the opportunity to cast their ballot in this important election. In anticipation that temperatures may reach up to 100 degrees, I am calling on Mayor Adams to deploy the necessary resources, equipment and personnel to ensure that every polling site is cool, comfortable and accessible, and ensure that bottled water is provided to every registered New York City voter who plans to vote in person next Tuesday. No matter if New Yorkers vote early or on Election Day, every vote must be counted and heard because the future of our city depends on it.”
