Governor Cuomo Blasts Trump Administration Over Handcuffing and Forced Removal of U.S. Senator Alex Padilla from Press Conference
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, candidate for Mayor of New York City, today blasted the Trump Administration for its reckless and unprecedented decision to handcuff and forcibly remove U.S. Senator Alex Padilla (D-CA) from Department of Homeland Security Kristi Noem's press conference in Los Angeles. Cuomo stated that this is part of a concerning pattern and practice of how the Trump administration has weaponized the federal government to target political opponents and undermine our democracy.
Governor Cuomo issued the following statement and tweet:
“The handcuffing of @SenAlexPadilla, the indictment of @RepLaMonica, and the arrest of a Wisconsin judge show just how far the Trump administration is willing to go to silence opposition and undermine our democracy.
