Elected Officials Across New York City Rally Around Cuomo’s Proposal to Raise the Wage to $20/hr
Goverrnor Andrew M. Cuomo, candidate for Mayor of New York City, announced his proposal to raise the minimum wage to $20 per hour by 2027 for all New York City workers currently eligible for the New York State minimum wage. The rally was attended by the hardworking women and men who represent the economic engine of the city, including union members from 1199SEIU, the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union (RWDSU), the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU), United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) Local 1500, the New York City and Vicinity District Council of Carpenters, the Hotel & Gaming Trades Council, and 32BJ SEIU.
Following the announcement, elected officials from across the city rallied behind Cuomo’s proposal and championed him as a leader for labor who will deliver real results for New Yorkers.
