Congressman George Latimer Endorses Andrew Cuomo for Mayor
We need less talk and more action, and Cuomo has an unmatched record of actually raising wages for working families, building bridges, rebuilding our airports and subways, and actually building affordable housing at a time when we need it most. I wholeheartedly endorse his candidacy because New York City needs a proven manager who knows what’s needed and can get the job done.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, candidate for Mayor of New York City, today received the endorsement of Congressman George Latimer, representing New York’s 16th Congressional District, covering parts of the Bronx. Congressman Latimer touted Cuomo’s record on raising wages, building new infrastructure and housing projects, and his strong record on defending democracy and combating antisemitism.
“Andrew Cuomo is the experienced leader we need as mayor to stand up to Trump’s withering attacks on our democracy, fight the scourge of antisemitism and deliver real results for working families in the Bronx,” Congressman Latimer said. “We need less talk and more action, and Cuomo has an unmatched record of actually raising wages for working families, building bridges, rebuilding our airports and subways, and actually building affordable housing at a time when we need it most. I wholeheartedly endorse his candidacy because New York City needs a proven manager who knows what’s needed and can get the job done.”
“I’m deeply honored to have Congressman Latimer’s support, someone who is on the front lines battling Donald Trump’s authoritarian agenda in Congress and protecting the Bronx at home,” Governor Cuomo said. “His vital work in Washington, D.C. reflects the kind of common-sense leadership we need more of, and together, we’ll fight every day for hardworking New Yorkers who deserve safe streets, good jobs, affordable housing, and a government that stands up to hate and defends our democracy.”
Congressman Latimer joins a slate of other Bronx elected officials and organizations like Rep. Ritchie Torres, Rep. Adriano Espaillat, former Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., Assembly Member Yudelka Tapia, Assembly Member John Zaccaro, Jr., Assembly Member Michael Benedetto, Assembly Member George Alvarez, and the Liberty Democratic Association of The Bronx.
Throughout his career in public service, Cuomo has been a champion for working New Yorkers. He raised wages for millions of workers, passed the strongest gun violence prevention and paid family leave laws in the nation, advanced the most substantial infrastructure program in a generation, including the Second Avenue Subway, the Moynihan Train Hall, the new Kosciuszko Bridge and the new JFK and LaGuardia airports and codified Roe vs. Wade in state law years before the Supreme Court overturned it, all while cutting taxes and reining in spending.
