Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, candidate for mayor of New York City, received the endorsement of New York State Senator Sam Sutton, who touted Cuomo’s longstanding support for the Jewish community and the urgent need for a candidate who can stand up against the DSA and their far-left, extremist political allies.

“I am endorsing Andrew Cuomo for Mayor. There is a critical primary coming up here in New York starting June 14th, this is putting Andrew Cuomo against a DSA candidate who has publicly announced that the Jewish state does not have a right to exist,” New York State Senator Sam Sutton said. “Please make sure to vote in this primary, do not forget to vote June 14th for Andrew Cuomo.”

“I’m honored to have the endorsement of Senator Sam Sutton, a principled leader who has always stood up for what’s right. This race is about more than politics — it’s about protecting our shared values,” Governor Cuomo said. “New York has always been a beacon of tolerance and diversity and now more than ever, we need to stand in solidarity with the Jewish community and with the state of Israel’s right to exist in peace and security. As mayor, I will fight to ensure our city remains a place where hate has no home and I am honored to have the support of the senator.”

New York State Senator Sam Sutton joins a slate of Brooklyn elected officials who have endorsed Cuomo for mayor, including Assembly Member Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, Chair of the Brooklyn Democratic Party, State Senator Roxanne Persaud, Assembly Member Latrice Walker, Assembly Member Erik Dilan, Assembly Member William Colton, Council Member Farah N. Louis, Council Member Susan Zhuang, and Council Member Darlene Mealy.

Throughout his career in public service, Governor Cuomo has been a champion for working New Yorkers. He raised wages for millions, protected the right to organize when the Supreme Court tried to break the back of the labor movement, increased access to healthcare, enacted the nation's strongest paid family leave program and expanded apprenticeships, vocational training, and workforce development programs. He also advanced the most substantial infrastructure program in a generation, including the Second Avenue Subway, the Moynihan Train Hall and the new Kosciuszko Bridge and the new JFK and LaGuardia Airports – all major projects built with union labor.
