Andrew Cuomo Releases First Ad in 2025 Mayor’s Race ‘Crisis’
This is not the time for on the job training – the stakes are just too high. From building affordable housing nationwide as federal Housing Secretary under President Clinton, to bringing the state back from the brink in the aftermath of the Great Recession, to leading New York – ground zero – to beat back COVID, Andrew Cuomo knows what needs to be done to get the city back on track, because he’s done it before. In every crisis, Andrew Cuomo has delivered.

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo, candidate for New York City mayor, released his first ad of the 2025 race today, ‘Crisis.’
The ad focuses on Cuomo’s experience navigating New York through the COVID-19 pandemic, underscoring that he is the leader with the proven track record of results to manage New York City through the multiple crises it faces today.
It will run as part of a six-figure multi-layered, multi-platform buy on all streaming TV platforms and on major digital channels, including YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and programmatic preroll starting today.
“The city is in crisis – a crisis of affordability, a crisis of public safety and a crisis of leadership. And New York is at a crossroads,” Cuomo for NYC Campaign Chairman Bill Mulrow said. “This is not the time for on the job training – the stakes are just too high. Now, he will do it again, and together we will build a safer and more affordable New York City for all.”
A script of the ad is below:
It was the greatest health crisis in our history—and when New Yorkers were desperate for leadership—Andrew Cuomo delivered.
He didn’t just provide information in those daily COVID briefings—he acted— building emergency hospitals and deploying first responders.
And he provided hope—that we’d pull through this…together.
We did.
Now New Yorkers face a city unaffordable, and streets that don’t feel safe.
And in a crisis …
You want someone who’s delivered for us before.
