Andrew Cuomo today completed his 62-couty tour of New York State with a GOTV rally in Ballston Lake in Saratoga County. During the Drive for a New NY, Cuomo visited every county in the State, picking up support of a bi-partisan group of elected officials, community leaders, and thousands of New Yorkers of all backgrounds. In addition to community organizing meetings and GOTV rallies, Cuomo visited diners and restaurants, marched in parades, attended county fairs, and spoke at religious centers. Cuomo traveled to most of the counties in an RV with his three daughters. Visit www.AndrewCuomo.com/Drive to see photos and highlights from the entire tour.
“It has been an honor and privilege to have once again traveled throughout the state I love so much,” Cuomo said. “As I have said during this tour, in rural communities and big cities, in order to make New York State the Empire State once again, we cannot let ourselves be divided. We must come together as one people, as one community, to turn this state around and restore faith in our government. The purpose of the Drive for a New NY was to do just that – to bring the people of the State of New York together as a force to not only win an election in November, but change Albany in January.”
Cuomo kicked off the Drive for a New NY on July 15 in Rockland County. The first 11-day swing of the tour then continued through the Hudson Valley, stopping in counties in the Capital Region, then up to the Adirondacks and finishing in Ogdensburg along the St. Lawrence Seaway. Later in July, Cuomo got back in the RV to visit Auburn and counties in the Finger Lakes and the Southern Tier.
During August and September, Cuomo continued to visit counties throughout the state, including the five boroughs and Long Island, and then got back in the RV one last time to visit counties in Central New York. Cuomo completed the tour today with a GOTV rally in Saratoga County.
