The Empire Center for NYS Policy recognizes Andrew Cuomo for backing capital gains tax relief as part of his NY Works Agenda in their jobs report released today, "EnterprisingNY."
"[T]he capital gains tax punishes entrepreneurial sacrifice," the report states in the conclusion, recommending reducing income taxes on capital gains. "At least one major party gubernatorial candidates seems to recognize this need: Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, the Democratic nominee, backs elimination of capital gains taxes on investments in start-up and 'early stage' firms."
